And So We Come to S is for Spider

When I first saw the stamps by Lavinia, at the NEC back in November of last year, I fell in love with them and you can be sure that I will be collecting them in the future.

For my S is for Spider atc I have used the tiny slender mushrooms and the weeping willow leaves from Lavinia stamped in Stampin' Up basic grey. The grasses are from Sir Stamp-a-Lot and the spider is a little custom stamp from Andrew at Tanda. The image has been coloured using copic markers. The chipboard S was coloured with colourbox chalk ink and triple embossed with a tiny bit of glitter.

The set is coming together well now and I'm really pleased with how it's looking. Here's the set so far......

Enjoy!

Tanda Teaser and other things!

It's been a bit of an intersting few days..so totally behind but catching up now by burning the candle at both ends! I'll regret it in the morning!

Although planned a few weeks ago when I had no idea what was going to happen, this week's tanda teaser is totally apt...you will just have to read the forum to see what I mean...the theme is "Going round in Circles", I had actually prepared a different card, but then Wendy told me the theme for next weeks challenge and I decided to save it for that, and did this card to fit with the Craft Stamper Sketch Challenge instead. I've used Tanda stamps Retro men set 1, transport set 1 and the crackle stamp from background set 2....The crackle is excellent by the way...there are no obvious edges to it unlike other crackle stamps that I have, and I have a few, so it is brilliant for large backgrounds...I've used brusho inks as before and used the crackle stamp with bleach for the backgrounds.

....so what other things....well I thought, after more than 15 years of stamping, it was about time I had an antistatic pad so I made one using the birdy stamp from craft stamper...the muslin was coloured with silk paints and the stamped image was done in stazon and then outlined in gold gutta.

..and yet more things to share...the sun meant it was a good day for making bread!

...and the garden looked lovely too....

there must be something in the climate change thing....bluebells used to come out mid May!!!

enjoy

More Gorjussness!

This weekend brought some sad news. I was already planning to make a sympathy card for a friend on the Tanda forum, but I ended up having to make two cards. I decided that the "sent with love" would convey the right sort of sentiment and chose backing papers in shades of black, white and cream. With the last Gorjuss card I'd used the faber castel oil pastels with sansodour, but I wasn't totally happy with the shading so this time I used my trusty old watercolours....(I've had them since I was a little girl, when they were passed onto me by our nextdoor neighbour's children, and I just keep topping the pans up from tubes as and when I need to. The pallets have seen better days, but they still function perfectly well!

The card layout is again based on the Craft Stamper sketch challenge, just a little different, and this time I remembered to stitch round my gorjuss girl...luckily the sewing machine was already threaded up with black cotton from making a tutu for dd1! I think I quite like the sketches, and might have to keep some sort of record of them for future reference!

To answer Sue's question about Brusho Inks, they are made by a company called Colourcraft (Colours and Adhesies) Ltd...their website is http://www.colourcraftltd.com/. They come in powder form and you can mix up as much or as little as you want...(I suggest you start saving the tiny jam jars you get in hotels to keep them in). The inks will stain if you're not careful, but they are wonderful to use...and they mix brilliantly. The green on my Apple atc was a mixture of lemon and leaf green.

Well I'd best be off now to carry on making the weekly batch of date and sultana bread!

regards

Sue

Gorjuss Craft Stamper Sketch Challenge

Twice in one day! I just finished my first Gorjuss card which I decided to combine with the craft stamper sketch challenge....I've changed it a tiny bit...added a flower instead of the greeting, but I'm pleased with it even if no one else is!

Well I think that's enough crafting for one day...got to tidy everything up before hubby gets home, else I'm for it!!!
Bye for now
