Tanda Teaser Time - Ahoy me mateys!

Didn't that week go fast?! Can't believe that it's Tanda Teaser Time again....I've lost my mojo a bit in the last couple of weeks and have to say I'm struggling to come up with a card to challenge you with for next week. I've got the title sorted, it's just the card that's troubling me. In the meantime I'm glad to say that it is Wendy's turn to set the challenge this week.

The challenge is to make something pirate related....I got the wrong end of the stick and just went down the nautical route....I did use the anchor from Tanda pirate set one though..so I am hoping that this counts. I'm also hoping that my brother doesn't see this as this is his birthday card for next week! He used to sail in the Tall Ships Race, and met his wife on the flight to Boston when he was going to sail the last leg from Boston to Liverpool. The boats are from my baby and toddler sets....see they're not just for kids! my brother will be 42 next week!

I've got a busy few days ahead with my parents and my father-in-law, so I'm not going to be able to get anything crafty done now until Monday when the kids go back to school....just when I've got some lovely new custom stamps from Andrew...my fingers are seriously itching!

Stampin' Up Workshop

Yesterday saw a bit of me time so I had a few ladies over for a Stampin' up Workshop. Our demonstrator, Margaret Harris, showed us how to make the bag-o-lope and a card to match. Only 3 of us had stamped before, so it was a totally new experience for the others. Everyone, seemed to enjoy it, I'm just hoping that they decide to place some orders!

I is for Ink

Linda's alphabet challenge this week is I, and like Linda, I thought immediately of Ink! I've taken it a bit more literally than Linda in that I have stamped a little ink bottle, ink pen and ink spots on my atc. I think the ink bottle and the pen are stamps from non-sequitur, and the ink spots are by Laxmi Designs.

I'm really happy with how this project is coming together see piccy below....

Oh Baby, It's the Tanda Teaser

Well I accidentally posted the pic of this week's card earlier on in my Blog. I meant to post the boy baby card and save the girl one for the challenge. Anyway the pink one is now on the Tanda Blog. I've used the baby starter set and letraset promarkers to colour the images. The tag and the label were coloured with the promarker too.

The baby boy card is very similar just blue instead of pink and I only used one scalloped border.....

Oh, I almost forgot, the pram is painted with glossy accents.

Enjoy

H is for House

I thought I would play with my paperartsy Bricks and Mortar stamps for this one. I made the background "townscape" using masking techniques and then coloured with copic pens....I am sooooo loving the copic pens! Thanks for all the advice Carol, Joanne and Wendy!

The H was coloured with colourbox chalk inks...I then used white gelpen to draw in the mortar but this has faded when I triple embossed....you can just about see it if you look carefully.

Tanda Teaser and Z fold cards

When Wendy told me that the challenge this week was to make a Z fold card I wasn't quite sure what was required, I've never made one before and it really took me a while to figure out what I was going to do....

Fil is currently very ill in hospital so I decided to use the challenge as an excuss to make a card for him. I also decided to use stamps from my new Tanda baby and toddler sets to show that they aren't just for kids!

As "get well soon" is probably not appropriate in fil's case, I asked Andrew to make some alternative word stamps for me. Sure enough Tanda provided their normal excellent service, and the stamps were with me first thing the next day, unlike the new nesties (ordered the same morning from another company). For any of you wanting custom stamps I cannot recommend Tanda enough....and no I'm not on their payroll!

Got to go now as the kids will be coming home from school any moment now....ding dong, ding dong.....that's them....must fly!

G is for Gorjuss Girl

Here it is, another atc to go in the collection...hope I'm not going too girly here though! This was one of my first attempts at using my new copic markers and my first play with this gorjuss girl with attitude! The G is cut out of thick card, gessoed, coloured with colour box chalk ink and then triple embossed with a bit of glitter added in.

Tanda Teaser Time Again - So am I "Cracking Up"?

It's Wednesday again already, and that means one thing.....time for a Tanda Teaser....well actually it means, big shop day (yawn!), girls Synro swimming night, late tea to name but a few things that go on on Wednesdays in this house.

This week's challenge is about crackle effects, hopefully it is not a prediction of what I will do this week due to current events in our household!

For my card I have used the crackle stamp from Tanda's Background Set 2 and stamps from Linda Luckin's Horse Plate 2 and her small fir trees. The image is coloured with watercolours. the buckle is a recycled coke can coloured with alcohol inks and the strap is my rendition of faux leather.

New Stamps!

Hi,
I thought that I would share my new stamp designs that have just been launched by Tanda...you can see them over at www.tandastamps.com/

The stamps are designed to be used for baby and toddlers upto the age of 5, although I think that there may be other uses for them as well. I have drawn the stamps to give focal points, backgrounds and borders for boys and girls. The baby quilts are designed so that one is boy related and one is girl related and they can be used in conjuction with the letters and numbers on the Toddler set.

Here are some sample cards using the new stamps.....

This card used stamps from both sets...I think I might be doing one similar to this for my little brother...he's into sailing and he's going to be 42 next birthday so you see what I mean about not just being for babies and toddlers.

The next card is a baby girl card and all the stamps used for this one come from the baby starter set...I used promarkers to colour and glossy accents on the pram.

The third sample card is made using both sets, the heart border from the starter set and the teddy from the toddler set. Again I think this has potential for more than babies and toddlers as it could be used for anniversary and valentine cards.

The stamps are available from Tanda and come unmounted in red rubber or in clear polymer.

F is for Flowers

This is my entry for this week's alphabet challenge set by Linda...I used the flower stamp from the friendship set of stamps from innovative stamp creations and coloured it using my new copic markers...one of my first experiments with them.

While I'm on the subject of the friendship set I'd like to share the atc I made for Chrissy Rollins atc swap..the theme was to use pages of a phone directory on the atc...I gessoed my phone directory (aka my stamping pad) and then stamped and layered up my images..... I made the mistake of using letrast promarkers to colour the flowers..I don't think they liked the gesso, which seems to have dried the tip rather. So I used conventional watercolour paints to colour the rest of the image. Two little spots of glossy accents on the eyes and some stickles on the flower centres and butterfly.

Tanda Teaser Blue and Yellow

I know, I know, I know, I've been a bad blogger! The words "Spanner in Works" come to mind this week, so blog posts will continue to be a little sporadic over the next few weeks. Swine flu has meant that my dad's operation has had to be brought forward and I am in the process of trying to sort out how/when I'm going to go down to support mum..I had everything planned for next week not this week!

I did manage to get this card onto the forum in plenty of time, but I just haven't had time to update my blog! The yellow card was sprayinked in buttercup and gold inks. The cupcake stamps were from Woodware, the sentiment and the number stamps are from Tanda.

Rather than posting one long post today, I'm going to post lots of little ones all on different subjects....trust me I'm not cracking up...but watch this space!
